Meet the Stars

Nobel Lakaev (Yr 7, Wollumbin High School)
A classically trained ballet dancer and member of the Queensland Youth Ballet, Nobel is a multi-award winner for countless performing arts festivals. He has studied with the Australian Academy of Acting in Brisbane. Holy Flypaper! marks this significant young talent's first lead role in a major community theatre production.
Samantha Naday (Yr 7, St Andrews Lutheran College)
One to keep an eye on, 12 year old Samantha has been involved in over 8 plays already, with roles ranging from Sir Lancelot to a Cane Toadette in The Wizard of Woz last year. A skilled singer, dancer and actor, Sam is serious about making a career in the performing arts. She has plans to take her amazing talents to the West End or Broadway one day.
Tammy Dundon (Year 10, Kingscliff High School)
Tammy has studied classical ballet for 11 years, achieving Honours with Distinctions in her last 5 consecutive ballet exams. She has been acting and performing for the last 6 years. Tammy would enjoy a career in acting, especially in films.
Hayden Bech (Yr 9, Banora Point High School)
Has received numerous awards for public speaking, and is school age champion in swimming. Recently, Hayden performed in The King and I for the Tweed Theatre Company, and would like to one day star in a big name production on TV, film or stage.
Heiti Miller (Yr 10, Rudolph Steiner School)
A seasoned school and community theatre actor, Heiti really impressed as the lead Cane Toad Sister in The Wizard of Woz. For Holy Flypaper! she has the responsibility of playing two featured and challenging roles.
Benjamin Naday (Yr 9, St Andrews Lutheran College)
Ben played the First Rat Boy in The Wizard of Woz and also starred in the lead role of Tristan for Kids in Camelot at the Sanctuary Cove Theatre last year. His ambition is to enter Federal Parliament and become the youngest Prime Minister of Australia.
Zachary Pleming (Yr 9, Kingscliff High School)
An experienced youth actor, Zach has performed in numerous school plays and local theatre productions. He starred last year as Wallaby the Wannabe in The Wizard of Woz and was then cast as the male lead in The Magic Rainforest. He would like to be a marine biologist and work with wildlife, especially reptiles.
Joshua Hack (Yr 6, Banora Point Public School)
Although only 11 years old, Josh has performed in musicals for Tweed Theatre Co. like The King and I. Passionate about acting, he also played the Third Rat Boy in The Wizard of Woz. Josh dreams of one day starring on Broadway.
Katherine O'Donoghue (Yr 6, St Anthonys Kingscliff )
This is Katherine's first play. If she doesn't go on with acting, Katherine wants to be a kindergarten teacher. Her main achievements are academic, but she is a keen netballer with Cudgen Fireflies.
Bronte O'Donoghue (Yr 4, St Anthonys Kingsliff)
Our youngest cast member and another stage debutant, Bronte enjoys netball, swimming and playing games. When she grows up, Bronte would like to be an infants or relief teacher, or a famous singer.
Abigail Johnstone (Year 8, Home Schooling)
She has been dancing since age six and has won numerous awards. Abigail loves singing, theatre/acting and all forms of drama. She has been taking singing lessons since 2005.
Writer: Nicholas Canny (Murwillumbah)
Originally trained as a professional actor, Mr. Canny concentrates now on playwriting, stage production and film making. The founder of Uncanny Productions, Holy Flypaper! is his third original play, following on from the success last year of The Wizard of Woz, and the adult comedy/drama, The Road To Victory.
Director: Joanne Franklin (Cabarita)
A former Kingscliff High School student, Jo has been acting, singing and dancing since her early childhood. Having appeared in community and professional theatre productions here and in the UK, Jo recently starred as Billie Bailey in The Road To Victory. Jo Franklin now operates the Kingscliff Theatre Company and taking the helm for Holy Flypaper! launches her career as a fully-fledged stage director.
Muppy Creator: Ben Hitchcock (North Tumbulgum)
With a bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Ben got involved in theatre last year by playing Al Grosnivic in The Road To Victory. He has also appeared for the Murwillumbah Theatre Co. in Dimboola. Mr. Hitchcock's many roles include Production Manager for Holy Flypaper! and Manager of Zensoft.
Music Director: Phil Eizenberg (Stokers Siding)
An accomplished musician and composer, Phil has performed with Top Ten rock bands and recently launched his own recording studio, Off Track Digital. Mr. Eizenberg has also been MD for Jesus Christ Superstar and The Wizard of Woz, and is an independent recording artist in his own right.
